Redying

Pure aniline leather is a real soft feeling leather.  The color in this leather has been put into it through the tanning process and the surface is overdyed to give it a richer look.  In time, this color can dissipate into the leather leaving a washed-out look or can fade out entirely from sunlight.  Another thing that happens to this leather is that through wear it gets more absorptive and can develop stains from food grease, body oils, or other soils.

Consequently, this leather can get to looking pretty bad over time.  Prior to 2007, the only thing which we were able to do was to attempt to refinish this leather with our basic leather finish which did solve the problems described above.  However, since it was a coating, it changed the feel of the leather and also did not wear well on the seat bottoms.  Now, we have brand new  pure aniline penetrating dyes which can recolor the leather as well as hide all the stained areas yet still leave the leather as soft as the original.  This is real good news for people who spent thousands purchasing this kind of leather and would like to save their furniture.  Call today for a free estimate and inspection of your leather.
